Port Rex appoints principal

After a four-year search, four years of searching, Port Rex Technical High School has announced the appointment of Ettiene Theron as their new principal.

Theron was chosen unanimously by the Port Rex selection committee and their recommendation was approved by the department of education on May 21.

The school has been without a principal since the passing of Rob Piderit in 2015.

Theron matriculated from Martin Oosthuizen High School and holds a BA honours, majoring in biokinetics, and an HDE from Stellenbosch University.

He has been teaching natural, physical and technical sciences since 1989 and was appointed deputy principal at Port Rex in 2018.
