The Breidbach Football Association (Brefa) affiliate Super Star U10 side is ready for the challenge awaiting them when they compete for the winning trophy in the Swaraj FC 41th Anniversary Mujahid Marais Memorial Tournament commencing from Thursday until Sunday at the North East Stadium in East London.
The club is currently at the top of the Brefa U10 eight-team log and remains unbeaten in nine games.
Star manager, Glynice Bester, said the club started about four years ago when the boys were still U6 and were groomed by her husband and coach Willy Bester.
“We lost in a penalty shootout during a final played in Mdantsane last year but most of my players were still eight and nine years old,” a confident Glynice said.
Coach Willy said the preparations went according to plan and his boys are looking forward to any challenge.
“There are 12 participating teams but I am confident that we will fly the flag for our community and not return home empty-handed,” he said.
The winners of their category will walk away with soccer gear plus a trophy while the runners-up will win gym equipment.
