King William’s Town beauty teen Caitlyn Cassels once again made her community proud after she impressed judges during a beauty pageant held in Springs, Gauteng at over the weekend.
The grade 8 pupil from Hoërskool De Vos Malan participated in the Royal Beauty King and Queen SA 2019 pageant where she competed against 18 other contestants from across the country.
Cassels was chosen as the National Beauty first princess under the National Beauty Diamond League category.
The other categories in the pageant were pearl, sapphire and emerald, with diamond being the highest.
She also walked away with nine other awards and five sashes from the pageant.
An elated Cassels told the GO! she never expected to be amongst the top three.
“I was confident and never doubted my capabilities, but I never imagined to be the best in our category after seeing so many talented girls I had to compete against,” said Cassels.
She believes that she can leave a legacy that will empower youth and woman of all ages by showing that anything can be achieved through sheer determination and consistency.
“I will represent the province at the Tween of the World pageant in Klerksdorp from September 26 to 28.
“I am humbly asking the community for help in my journey for the Ambassador Award by donating one or two items in order to bless a child with a toiletry bag,” Cassels said.
“I have set a target of about 200 children to benefit from the project and am confident that I’ll gain the support I’m always receiving from my beloved community.”
Her mother, Senolene, said on Tuesday she was happy about her daughter’s victory.
“I know this is exactly what Caitlyn always wanted and I am glad that we as parents could support her and I hope this will open more doors for her because she is passionate about modelling.”
