Themebelihle Yekela, from Buffalo Runners Athletics Club, was the first male to cross the finish line in Dale College’s successful fun run last Friday, in a time of 17:09:00. The first female was Marionelle Shaw, in 26:38:00.
The fun run raised funds for Dale’s upcoming school tours.
More than 320 competitors took part in the race, which started and ended at the school’s A rugby field.
Dale sports coordinator Zukile Mbelu said the debut race was a huge success and received positive feedback, although there was room for improvement.
