In order to help raise money for the Carel du Toit Centre, the Gonubie Lions Club is hosting an art exhibition at King’s Mall in Gonubie which will run until December 19.

The exhibition features works from 21 East London-based artists and two artists from Port Alfred. These include Lorraine Bezuidenhout, Melanie Cousins, Piet Holthuysen and Patricia Mathambo.

While this isn’t the first art exhibition the Lions have hosted, lockdown restrictions have meant they’ve had to change things up a bit.

“This time we did it the Covid-19 way, so it’s supposed to be more window shopping,” said Lions member Jeanette le Roux.

“People can come in but if there’s a big crowd, we’ll definitely limit the numbers.”

Those interested can visit the exhibition every Saturday from 9am to 12pm.

Carel du Toit project manager and principal Paula Kumm thanked Gonubie Lions for all they had done to help the centre.

“Gonubie Lions have been so good to us over the years,” she said.
