In the run-up to the local government elections on November 1, the DA’s BCM branch unveiled its manifesto last week.
The launch was led by the DA’s Buffalo City coastal constituency leader, Chantel King, who was joined by DA provincial chairperson Andrew Whitfield, SB Farrow constituency leader Thandeka Mbabama, DA Women’s Network provincial chairperson Nomvano Zibonda and DA Youth provincial chairperson Kwanele Zonke.
“Local government is at the heart of service delivery and closest to the people. It is the only sphere of government for which the constitution stipulates a specific mandate,” King said.
“Our number one priority is to get the Buffalo City Municipality working so that it can get things done and bring much needed service delivery to the residents and business alike.
“Getting the basics right will lead to more investment into our local economy, help grow jobs, stimulate small business and development and other opportunities, and attract more tourists to our beautiful city and province.”
