Get ready for Fashionable Nights! This is the title of fashion designer Tase Jack’s brand of local fashion displays.
This Saturday, the first of these events, will draw together East London’s fashion creatives, who will showcase their creations to a design-loving audience.
Fashionable Nights seeks to present fashion in a non-conventional way.
There will be no runways or stages. The set-up of the venue will allow models to walk through the crowd while guests can view pieces while sitting or standing.
It is the brainchild of Jack, a Walter Sisulu University fashion graduate, who specialises in ready-to-wear designs, fashion styling and buying. Jack said: “Fashionable Nights is about creatives presenting their wearable art to fashion lovers.
“These nights are to create a space where creatives can create their pieces with no limitations, and fashion lovers can feel free to wear whatever they want.”
Jack’s experience in the industry has made him quite a force to be reckoned with.
He interned under legendary SA fashion designer Gert Johan-Coetzee, studied fashion manufacturing techniques courses in China and showcased his work at popular local social events such as Berlin November and Buyelekhaya.
“I will host these events once every quarter.
“This is my first installment and tickets for the show have already sold out. Some people don’t even know what Fashionable Nights is about, but they know my work and believe in the Tase Jack brand so they are supporting and I am so grateful,” Jack said.
