What began as a devastating medical diagnosis has grown into a thriving local business that is changing lives, one pancake at a time.
For Cristin Flynn, founder of That Pancake Guy, the business was born out of necessity after being medically boarded and told that working in a mainstream environment would no longer be possible.
Rather than giving up, Flynn turned to faith for guidance.
“It was an answer to prayer,” Flynn said.
“I was medically boarded and told I’d never be able to work in a mainstream context.
“Starting That Pancake Guy gave me hope when I needed it most.”
Today, the business has become more than just a source of income for Flynn.
It also provides employment for four other people, proving that perseverance and determination can create opportunities even in the face of adversity.
Flynn credits much of the business’s growth to the support of local retailer Spargs, which provided a trading space that transformed the venture.
“A big thank you goes to Spargs for giving us the spot.
“It was only when we started selling at Spargs that the business really started becoming profitable, and it now provides a livelihood for all of us,” Flynn said.
Flynn also expressed heartfelt appreciation to customers who continue to support the small business.
“We are incredibly grateful to the community for allowing us to bake for them.
“Every purchase means so much to us and helps sustain our team.”
Quality remains at the heart of the business, with every pancake carefully prepared using premium ingredients.
“Each pancake is made with love, care, and the best possible ingredients,” Flynn said.
As That Pancake Guy continues to grow, Flynn hopes the business will inspire others facing difficult circumstances to keep believing in new possibilities.
