Celebrate love with the Alexander Playhouse’s LuvPlay cabaret

DRAMSOC presents another wonderful Valentines Cabaret at the Alexander Playhouse running from 14- 18 February.

This year’s cabaret, directed by local theatre practitioner, Pieter Taljaard, is called LuvPlay. The show celebrates love through an impressive repertoire of iconic love songs. The audience can expect a turmoil of romantic scenes from famous plays such as Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar named Desire and William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

The cast includes a crowd of talented performers such as Marcel Corson, Charné van den Berg, Cameron McEwan and Lincoln du Preez. Joining the cast once again are Renate Webber and Larry van der Walt (“Timeless”; “Gonubie Passion Play”) providing world class singing of light classical favourites such as “Time To Say Goodbye”.

Kristin Deetlefs also returns to the Alexander Playhouse stage as an accomplished performing arts student fresh out of Tshwane University of Technology’s famous Musical Theatre department. DRAMSOC is also proud to introduce audiences to local singer Loyd Peter who will be making his debut on the Alexander Playhouse stage.

Tickets are available at Lee Gold Music and booking is essential. Tickets are R130 per person for 14 and 17 February (light meal included) and R90 per person for 15 and 18 February (meal not included). Don’t miss out on this beautiful celebration of love.
