The Tshatshu Primary School Intermediate Choir scooped the winning floating trophy after competing with Zwelitsha schools at circuit level last week. The choir, under conductor and educator, Nomaza Nyobo-Jako, (seated in the picture) took first position in an Afrikaans piece called, ‘Daar kom die Alabama’. An elated principal, Thobeka Bobo-Gqibitole, commended the choir for flying the flag of the school and the community, and praised their conductor on a job well done. ‘They have risen to the occasion and outdone themselves,’ Bobo-Gqibitole said.’We as a school would also like to give thanks to our premier Phumulo Masualle for the uniform he donated to our school recently. It played a critical role in boosting the image and confidence of the learners.’ The school is situated in Tshatshu in Buffalo City Metropolitan Ward and forms part of Circuit 13 in the King William’s Town district, with Zamikhaya Ronoti the education district officer. They have a pupil compliment of 486, with classes starting from Grade R to Grade 7 Picture: SUPPLIED
