KIM’S Corner (previously known as Kim’s Antiques) is a home décor, furniture and auctioneering business owned and run by Kim Schwarz and her daughter Jerry Leyland.
“We are both qualified auctioneers and find that our customers are surprised to see women in this position. Auctions have a bit of an aggressive reputation and we are starting to change this and encourage new people to attend.
Kim’s Creations is a range of furniture designed by Kim and created from reclaimed wood and old architectural pieces.
Kim’s Corner spans over 1000m² of quirky furniture, gifts, vintage clothing, Bello chalk paint and antiques.

The mother-daughter pair have also started another business called Ride Away, which sells horses and horse-riding equipment.
Kim has been riding for 40 years and has qualified as an instructor.
She also has a knack of finding the right horse for the client. Horses are bought, schooled to a high level, and sold to compete.
At 7am every morning Jerry, Kim and Joss Barnard are schooling horses before “work”.
Jerry said: “Horse-riding is our passion, and having our own business gives us the freedom to do what we love”.
