A gang of robbers held up a Port Elizabeth Spur after rounding up staff and outside security guards shortly before closing last night.
According to police, three robbers were involved with the heist.
Staff were held at gunpoint after security officials were ushered into the restaurant and forced to kneel on the ground.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said that the holdup was inside the Silver Cloud Spur in the Westway Centre in Newton Park.
This comes only a month after a small group of church leaders were robbed at gunpoint during a breakfast meeting inside the Spur.
No one was injured in the latest incident. “The suspect’s escaped with money from the till and the staff members cellphones.”
Naidu confirmed that a getaway vehicle had been spotted in the centre carpark.
The Spur Franchise owners declined to comment this morning and asked to be contacted later.
A case of armed robbery is being investigated.
