PROMISING soccer players, Inganathi Lose, 16, who plays for the South India and Juliano Botha,16, who plays for Pefferville United were given an official East London Central Local Football Association send off on Saturday at the North End Stadium, as they will be part of the the Barcelona Youth Club Tournament in Spain.
The technical team is lead by Darian Hendricks who is the head of technical affairs, Vuyo Lambodla vice president of EL Central LFA, and assisted by a qualified German volunteer Lass Voges.
Botha is pupil form John Bisseker Secondary School and Lose is the pupil of Alphendale Secondary School.
Hendrick said both of the players underwent an intensive selection process in consultation with North End based clubs, and they would join the Northern Areas Local Football Association, who send players to Barcelona annually to the Youth Club tournament.
“The two players with other soccer players from the rest of the country were in Cape Town yesterday travelling to Doha, Qatar which is the en-route to Barcelona where they will play three games in the tournament,” said Hendricks.
Hendricks indicates as an independent LFA are proud of being able to still produce world class young players. “ We continue to mould the youth, so that they get the best opportunities they deserve. We will work as hard as we can to make sure that we get these opportunities for the young players.”
“I am extremely excited that our development has reached a stage where we can send players to play in Barcelona against teams from all over the world and we are grateful to our partners, Northern Areas Football Association, for this”, said Lambodla.
Lambodla said the LFA has raised funds within the association plus a very generous donation of R4500 from Pefferville Primary school . The tournament will run from June 28th to July 7th
