FORMER soccer player, Phumza Nqweniso, 33, of Duncan Village says being a woman coach is a daunting task but her team keeps her on her toes.
Birmingham City Ladies is a leading team participating in the SALSA Games and have been making waves by winning many of their matches.

Nqweniso, who is passionate about the sport, said that although there were challenges, her team always kept there to keep her grounded.
“It is not easy for us female coaches, but my passion for sports drives me.
“ I always tell my team to follow their passion despite the challenges we face,” she said.
She said her goal was to keep young women away from drugs, abuse and off the streets through sport.
“We all have a role to play in our communities and this is one of the goals that is important, to empower women because they are the most important part of our society.
“But, I enjoy what I do despite the stereotypes and challenges,” she said.
