Students of the Sonwa Sakuba Institute for the Performing Arts are set to stage their own production showcasing their storytelling skills through music, dance and drama.
Hidden Identity is a performance project created entirely by the students.
The students are split into groups and given 15 minutes to explore the theme of hidden identity, through music, dance and drama.
The performance pieces comprise original student plays as well as a musical programme that includes Afro-pop and classical genres. It is sure to leave audiences of all ages entertained.
“The main objectives of this project is to showcase their ability to create original works that speak through the voices of the new generation of creative and for them to work collaboratively with their peers, using lessons taught at the institute such as performance technique, script and character development ,” said event spokesperson Sinethemba Nkoloti.
The production will include one show on March 4 (Friday), and two on March 5 (Saturday), at Hemingways Mall.
