IT’S A WRAP: Young Just Models students during their graduation show. Pictures: CORNIE HERBSOn October 8, Just Models celebrated 30 years as a modeling agency in East London with a graduation show for this year’s students at its studio in Hemingways Mall.
The show required participants to style themselves in their own unique interpretation of an outfit made from plastic bags, and they certainly wowed the audience with their amazing creations.
The aim was to create awareness about the harmful effects of plastic on the environment, as well as to generate conversations on waste in the fashion industry and the harmful impacts of fast fashion.
This year’s modeling syllabus covered: self-confidence, self-love, self-discovery, self-development, self-care, professional development, runway posture, how to walk in heels, what makes a good model, working in front of the camera, and building a portfolio.
