GET your dancing shoes out to boogie the night away with international house DJ Andy Compton at the first ever Koolerbox pop-up event on December 3.
The event taking place at the Drifters Raceway Theme Park will also feature local acts such as Agentz Lungaz, Tony H, Charlie Deepster and many more.
Compton has released more than 30 albums and close to 150 EPs (either under his own name or as part of The Rurals) on his essential Peng label and other fine record labels.
The brains behind Koolerbox, Khululekile Sixaba promised fans a unique experience.
He said his company sought to nurture and groom underground house music DJs and that is why he had organised seven local DJs and only one international act for the event.
Started in July this year, Sixaba also aims to create job opportunities through his company
“Under my company, we have managed to employ 20 people who work at Koolerbox.
“They work shifts as waitresses, promoters and waiters. It is great to know we are making a difference. At the same time, we want to ensure unknown artists become known,” said Sixaka, who said the company would provide employees with work certificates.
“We aim at attracting both young and old people on the day. There will be a lot on offer with fire dancers, food stalls, art and crafts stalls and more. People will also be able to go for quad biking, paint balling or go-karting,” he said.
Early bird tickets are R100, general R150 and VIP R500, available at Drifters Raceway. For more details, contact Sixaka on 081-481-4014.
