IN A first-of-its kind fundraiser, the Rotary Club of East London is provi- ding a platform to showcase the abun- dant musical talent at local schools.
On August 8 for one night only at the Guild Theatre from 6.30pm, choirs, jazz bands and acapella performances from Hudson Park, Cambridge, Stirling, Clarendon and Sakhikamva high schools will delight the audience.
Rotary Club of East London president Pam Way explained that the international theme for this year was “Rotary: Making a Difference”.
“We are delighted our new and younger Rotarians have inspiring ideas to bring Rotary projects closer to our communities. Showcasing the musical talent of our youth will pro- vide an added platform to show what talent we have in our city,” Way said.
Funds raised will be used to bring comfort to those having treatment in the oncology outpatients’ hostel located at the Frere Hospital.
