King William’s Town local Xola-Sisipho Limba is on her way to great heights as her involvement in arts and culture provides her with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent SA in the United States later this year.
The 18-year-old Clarendon High School boarder will take part in the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) in Orlando, Florida that will be attended by a panel of international agents, record labels, casting directors, managers and producers from all over the world, including Hollywood.
“I have a deep passion for performing arts and media, modelling, singing and dancing. “Throughout my school career, I’ve been part of various drama productions and modelling competitions and done quite well,” Limba said
Limba is also a prefect and house captain while also offering peer tutoring services.
“I’m currently a radio presenter for a youth show called Hip Hop Youthology every Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm on Link FM and am a youth leader at my church,” she said.
Limba hopes to study a Bachelor of Arts in film and television, and hone her acting and directing skills. She has received an award for a school play which she directed and for which she has written a script.
“I also want to be part of the evolution of having more female directors and female owned media houses,” Limba said.
